These prints were part of the Hunter Island Press ‘Frame of Mind’ exhibition - exploring Wiilow Court, New Norfolk, the site of Australia’s oldest asylum.
Hearing about Willow Court’s history as an asylum, had me thinking about all the people who have lived there and about changing concepts and treatments for mental health. My artwork also refers to the long shadow that problems with mental health can cast over families – difficulties exacerbated by stigma past and present.
